There are 3 areas under the ProTools Setup menu that need to be verified prior to starting any project. These include:
Hardware Setup (see Figure 1)
- Confirm that MOTU V4HD is selected in the Peripherals list
Playback Engine (see Figure 2)
- Verify that MOTU V4HD is set as the Playback Engine
- H/W Buffer Size should be 512 Samples
- Host Engine, check Ignore Errors During Playback/Record and Dynamic Plug-in Processing
I/O Setup -Input and Output tabs (See Figures 3 and 4)
- Verify that ADAT Optical 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8 are listed in the channel column on the left
- Verify that each of the above channels are mapped to the corresponding A-MOTU V4HD Optical Input and Output
