To avoid most of these settings issues, you can Log In to any Mac Computer on the 1st floor using the name and password "student". All settings in the "student" profile should already match the settings below.
When you log in with your personal ETSU credentials for the first time on any of the 1st floor computers, you may have to make changes using the guide below.
Trouble connecting to the Internet?
- Make sure WiFi is turned OFF
- WiFi is not necessary on any computer on the 1st floor of Warf-Pickel.
- Nexis will not work properly until WiFi is turned OFF
Can't see a memory card or Nexis Folders on the Desktop?
- Click on the "Finder" Icon at the bottom of the screen
- In the upper-left of the screen, Click on "Finder", then "Settings"
- At the top of the Pop-Up Settings window, click on the "General" Tab and make sure to check the boxes next to "Hard Disks" and "Connected Servers". Your settings should look like the settings below:
- Now, click on the "Sidebar" Tab and make sure your computer has a check mark next to it. The computer is usually named "ETSU" followed by a six digit number. In this case, the computer's name is "ETSU107845", make sure to click the box next to it to give it a "check mark".
- You should now see your memory card or your Nexis connected folders on the Desktop, as well as in the Finder window.
Cannot right-click on the mouse
- Click on the "Settings" Icon at the bottom of the screen
- Scroll down on the left side of the "Settings" window and choose "Mouse". Then click "Mighty Mouse settings" on the right.
- On the right side of the screen, click on the drop-down menu connected to the right mouse button and choose "Secondary Button". Then click "Done"
