Creating Editshare Spaces For Classes

There are two methods for creating your class spaces on EditShare

Method 1:

Step-1. Log into D2l

Step-2. Open the class for which you desire to have EditShare partitions created.

Step-3. Select the “Grades” link in the course Menu.

Step-4. Select the “Enter Grades” link in the Grades Page, it may already be selected.

Step-5. Once in the Edit Grades area Select the “Export” Button

Step-6. Select the radio buttons: Username, Last Name, First Name, Email.
Deselect any of the grade items.

Step-7. Click the “Export to Excel” button at the bottom of the page.
The Export Grades popup will open. Click on the link to download the excel file to an easily accessible place on your desktop.

Step-8. Once the file has downloaded attach it to an email. Click the appropriate link below that contains your ETSU username and attach the downloaded excel document. Also include the information from steps 9 and 10.

Step-9. In the body of the email tell me how you would like the EditShare spaces setup. Some options are listed below that you can copy and paste in the body of your email.

 

A class drive space for students and the instructor to have access to read and write files.

 

A class drive space for students to be only able to read files and the instructor to write and read files.

 

A class drive space for students and the instructor to have access to read and write files. With personal drive spaces for each student in the class of which the instructor does not have permission to access. (Usually used for VF –Tech)

 

A class drive space for students and the instructor to have access to read and write files. With personal drive spaces for each student in the class of which the instructor has permission to read and write to each students personal drive. (Usually used for PR Writing)

Note: Other options are available. Please contact Daniel Santiago Ext:94172 for more information.

 

Step-10. In the subject of the email please put the Course number and Course Name.

Step-11. Press send (This ends method 1)

 

Method 2:

Step-1. Add whitakerd and santiago as teaching assistants to your class in D2l.

Step-2. Click the appropriate link below that contains your ETSU username and include the information from steps 3 and 4.
